Aligning Efficiency with Effectiveness

As we continue to explore how efficiency begins with effectiveness , we look at aligning the two. Consider the following:

  1. Do you routinely assess your Critical Processes for relevance and applicability, as your organization evolves?
  2. Are your existing processes being evaluated against Best Practices within your industry?
  3. Have you defined measurements (business metrics) to determine if you are meeting – and/or exceeding – your Client’s needs and expectations?
  4. Are internal controls in place to protect your Clients, your Staff, and your Organization’s resources?
  5. Do you have a defined timeframe to reassess all of your Critical Processes for both efficiency and effectiveness?

If you answered “yes” to all of these questions, you are positioning your organization to be both effective and efficient.

Evaluating Your Organization’s Effectiveness

Effectiveness is one of the primary factors to influence an organization’s sustainability. Consider the following questions when evaluating your organization’s effectiveness:

  1. Do your Critical Processes align with your strategic goals?
  2. Does your Staff clearly understand your organization’s strategic goals?
  3. Do you clearly understand what limits your effectiveness?
  4. Do the tasks you perform meet – and exceed – your Clients’ needs and expectations?
  5. Are your business metrics designed to evaluate your effectiveness?
  6. Are you routinely assessing the effectiveness of what and how you support your Client’s and manage your business?

If you answered “yes” to all of these questions, you have established the foundation for your organization’s effectiveness.
