In our latest blog, we provided some hints on getting started in building sustainability within your Company. We highlighted two areas to assist with this:
1. Follow the Doable, Chewable Chunks® methodology
2. Focus on your Critical Processes
So how will these help you? Using the Doable, Chewable Chunks® methodology allows you to manage the effort and time commitment to implementing changes within your Company. Many projects (efforts) fail because a Company attempts to do too much at once. Deliberately managing the amount of action to be taken helps a Company better position themselves to reap results quickly.
Focusing on your Critical Processes will assist a Company in prioritizing their efforts to align with those tasks (processes) that are most critical to the Company’s vision and mission. Building sustainability around those Critical Processes will reap the greatest rewards.

In our most recent newsletter, we identified that our focus for 2017 will be to provide insights into the importance of sustainability within a Company.
As we begin this year discussing how to create a sustainable organization, it must be said that sustainability is not something that just happens within any Company. It requires the realization and commitment to incorporating the required actions needed to establish sustainability. As we quoted Cameron Sinclair in our most recent newsletter, sustainability is “a matter of survival for your business.”
This can create challenges for a Company as sometimes it is unclear where to focus and what priorities are needed to begin. We believe there two factors that will help as a Company begins to build a sustainable organization:
1) Follow the Doable, Chewable Chunks® methodology
2) Focus on your Critical Processes
This will allow your Company to begin to see results more quickly. Need help in building a sustainable organization? Contact Charlene Aldridge at 972.447.9787 or CharleneAldridge@aldridgekerr.com to discuss how we can assist you in improving how you do what you do.
