Some Random Thoughts about Laughter

Laughter IS the best medicine.  Besides having an amazing impact on our physical being (see more on that on "The Five Health Benefits of Laughter" within this newsletter), laughter creates numerous other benefits.  Here are some random thoughts on laughter that will hopefully brighten your day:

  • Did you know that even if you fake a smile our bodies don't know the difference and we still generate those positive health benefits?

Besides the health benefits, laughter is also great for OUR looks!

  • Laughing heartedly causes soreness in our abdomen, which means we are exercising those muscles.

  • It tones the facial muscles.

  • Laughter stimulates the muscles around our tear glands, giving our eyes a brightness, luster, and sparkle.

  • When we smile, it increases the blood flow to our skin, nourishing it.

Laughter is a proven way to improve our mood.  By laughing each morning, our mood for the day is lighter, brighter, and more pleasant for those around us.

Even when we are experiencing a time of sadness, loss, or difficulty, laughter can give us hope and perspective.
