In our most recent blog, we encouraged you to look at the reports you presently have in order to establish the baseline needed to effectively manage your organization’s reporting needs.
Now, step back and identify what you need to run your business. Here are some questions to answer to begin this assessment:
- What information is needed to understand if you are successfully providing your products or services to your Clients?
- What information is required to ensure you are providing a quality and timely product?
- How do you know if you are meeting or exceeding your organization’s goals and objectives? (If you don’t have goals and objectives, that’s another issue altogether!)
- Do you have reports that provide you with information on the issues that need to be addressed or resolved?
Add to the above list based on your organization’s needs and create a list of what information you need to effectively run your business. Once you know what you need, then you have a good foundation for defining what reports are needed to manage your organization.
